Irresistible subject

Candlefire… It’s just the way it always looks different.

This is just something born out of boredom, like many of my experiments are. The thing is… I miss blogging and would very much like to take it up again. And I will do it. I don’t have an Internet connection at home, but I won’t let that stop me. I’ll start off with a weekly post coming out every Monday at 7 a.m. No promises about the subjects of the posts. Will have to do a list, brain storming, get things rolling, snowballing… whatever. I already have a few ideas, but nothing set in stone. I am, therefore, open to suggestions.

Renoni Vice: How ‘bout you stop pretending people actually read your blog, for a start. That would really be something.

Yeah… glad to have her back. This reminds me. I have never actually explained her. It is a long story, which means it will be told in another post.

Renoni Vice: Yeah…. that’s not going to happen!

Alright… enough out of you, Renoni! I will be posting something on Monday and that’s the end of it. As it is the end of this post.

short update

Quick rzvn update: I am sort of online. I will be using a kindle to post on blogger, which  is more inconveniet than you may think, but hey! At least I am online. I missed blogging. Short post today. Gotta run.

Will try and post more soon.

TFiOS - it has arrived

My copy of 'The Fault in Our Stars' by John Green has arrived and, to use a word one of his characters uses a lot, it's grand. So far, I mean. I haven't read the whole thing yet, but I'm pretty happy with it so far. It has such a down-to-earth style and the irony, oh the irony... Yeah. Big surprise! I like books because of their irony. It's a signed copy and I got the version with green signature (yay!). No hanklerfish or anything, but that was not the point of pre-ordering it, anyway. All I wanted was the autographed copy. The 5-euro-discount was nice too.

********************************

In the meanwhile, I managed to finish the book. It was long since it took me this little to get to the end of a tome. I believe that part of the reason I liked it so much is that I am familiar with John's way of speaking (I have a subscription to vlogbrothers' videos). It didn't feel like I was reading something a stranger wrote, but the words of someone I knew, the words of a friend.

The book is about teenagers who suffer of cancer, but more than that it's about how everything is a consequence of dying and how pain demands to be felt.

Anyway... I'm not going to praise the book too much, as it is neither my job nor my duty. I will say this, though: I loved it and I will read it again, which is not something I can say about all the books I've read.

Here's John reading the first chapter of the book. He also recorded himself reading the second chapter. You can find it on youtube. Enjoy!

On the real life side of things, I am moving. It feels good. I mean, I really enjoyed living with my sister and my brother-in-law, but hey! We all knew it was temporary and we are all glad it was. I miss having time and space all to myself (I'm pretty sure they do too) and soon I will. The room is pretty small and needs some reparations, but I'm more than happy to do them. And, hopefully, I will write my next blog post on my own computer, at my own desk, under my own bed. Yes. My desk will be under my bed. And yes, it is possible.

Until next time!

new shoes

I had a photo shoot with Theodora the other day and I also snapped a few stills. Whenever the final project is a photo album or a photo book, I try to include a few stills in the shoot. You know, something to have to use as a cover or as a transition element. I don't yet have permission to post any photos of Theodora on my blog, but I hope I'll be allowed to if I just ask nicely. In the meanwhile... just enjoy the still. Is it just me ore baby shoes are the cutest thing ever invented?

rzv update: He's working two jobs. Not much time on his hands. He had today off, but tomorrow... who knows?

Until the next time.. does anyone remember this?

Until the next time,

streetlights

Now there's a pretty long time since I've wanted to experiment with this kind of photography, but, because of different reasons, I didn't quite get to it. Here are some 5-30 seconds exposures I took from a bridge in Hütteldorf:

I varied the colours around in post processing in some cases.

Until next time!

rzvn update

Alright. Let's just get to it, shall we?

I'm sick (nasty cold). My application for the master's programme was rejected because I arrived at the admission office one day too late. I hate myself and the people who made me wait for the language certificate. At the moment I'm trying to get better and looking for a cheap rent in Vienna (any ideas? leave them in the comments). Hopefully I'll find something soon. I feel I've taken advantage of my relatives long enough.

Also... I've started tutoring people who encounter problems with the English language and grammar. If anyone's interested in improving their English and learning the difference between responsable and responsible, e-mail me at f.razvan@gmail.com. Why you might think about improving your English?

Alright. Enough with the shameless promotion! What you should take away from this is that Razvan is going through some shitty times and hopes that less shitty times are to come somewhere in the future.

TIFIOS cover

If you're not a vlogbrothers' fan or a nerdfighter (if you are not familiar with any of those two terms, there's this thing called Google... knock yourself out!), TIFIOS stands for 'The Fault in our Stars', the new novel of John Green. Here's John talking about the title of the book (and the epigraph of 'The Great Gatsby'):

And here's John talking about the the cover of the book:

And HERE is the yeti (John's wife) explaining why you should like the cover. I needed the explanation. It didn't make me love it, but I like it to some extent and understand why John loves it. Oh... I think John calls his wife 'the yeti' because she refuses to appear in any of his videos. We hint that she exists, but there is no available picture or footage of her. Yeah.. she's just like the Yeti.

I found way to order the book. The people at Thalia.at have it on their website. I'll stop by their shop in Landstraße tomorrow to pre-order the book. The whole first printing is going to be autographed, so I really don't want to miss my chance. I haven't read anything by John Green, but I really like his vlogging style, so maybe I'll like his writing as well.

I also plan to do a few long exposures tomorrow. Hope it turns out okay (it depends very much on the weather and a few other things). Stay tuned.

Until next time,

R
